Abstract
Purpose: This descriptive survey study aimed to identify the influences of person-centered perioperative nursing and patient safety competency on patient safety management activities among operating room nurses.

Methods: Data were collected from June 14 to July 14, 2021, covering 158 operating room nurses working at six general hospitals. Data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression to identify the influencing factors of patient safety management activities.

Results: The mean scores of person-centered perioperative nursing, patient safety competency, and patient safety management activities were 3.86, 3.88, and 4.55, respectively. These scores increased with increased age and clinical experience. Person-centered perioperative nursing (¥â=.22, p=.014) and patient safety competency (¥â=.22, p=.014) influenced patient safety management activities.

Conclusion: Therefore, to improve the patient safety management activities of operating room nurses, an efficient nursing work environment must be created along with systematic and continuous education and programs to enhance person-centered perioperative nursing and patient safety competency.
